Joe is dedicated to representing the victims of corporate wrongdoing and has been since before going to law school when he worked at a personal injury firm in his hometown of Pensacola, Florida. Joe started his career as an attorney as a law clerk to a federal district judge in Atlanta and then joined a “Big Law” firm where he was in the trenches in some of the largest litigations in the country, representing classes of investors against the major banks for conspiring to suppress the value of the plaintiffs’ investments. Joe obtained significant victories for the classes of investors and was awarded, along with his team, the American Antitrust Institute 2018 Antitrust Enforcement Award, for his victory in the “ISDAfix” litigation. Joe continued representing investors bringing antitrust claims for several more years and was recognized in the 2022 and 2024 editions of “The Best Lawyers in America” for his antitrust work. But representing investors – many of which were major pension funds – against financial institutions felt like doing nothing more than rearranging the assets of the wealthy, and Joe decided that he needed to be representing the true victims of corporate wrongdoing, specifically the individuals who have been harmed by the often ruthless conduct of faceless corporations that were prioritizing profits over health and safety. Joe is proud to be a part of Meirowitz and Wasserberg where the entire firm is dedicated to representing individuals and not corporations. Joe devotes his practice at M&W to developing arguments and writing briefs to oppose the efforts of corporate defendants to dismiss the claims of our injured plaintiffs before they can see their rightful day in court. Joe is able to utilize his extensive experience in big law as well as his experience clerking to prepare top-class opposition briefs that give our clients the best possible chance of bringing their claims before a jury.
