John W. Magrino is an Associate at the firm’s New York City office. He is a seasoned attorney experienced in all aspects of personal injury litigation from inception to trial in matters involving motor vehicle accidents, bicycle accidents, construction accidents, school accidents, premises liability, products liability and dog bites. He is licensed in the state courts of New York and New Jersey as well as the District of Columbia, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
Inspired by his late grandfather, the Honorable Frank Composto, J.S.C., Kings County, John became an attorney after graduating from St. John’s University School of Law. Before and during law school, he clerked for a couple of personal injury law firms where he was introduced to the practice of law. Throughout his career he has honed his litigation and counseling skills while gaining wisdom and insight from the many diverse and talented attorneys he has had the privilege to work with over the years. While primarily dedicating himself to representing clients who have been seriously injured, he also has experience in transactional matters involving wills and estates, real estate and small business acquisitions.
John sees ‘success’ as having a positive impact on a person’s life. To that end, his career has been filled with success, including obtaining millions of dollars in settlements for his seriously injured clients and facilitating transactions that have been life changing for them. He is especially proud of his representation of two families of victims of the World Trade Center tragedy on September 1, 2001 who were seeking relief from the Victims’ Compensation Fund. He remembers this as a profound moment in his career.
With his unwavering commitment to providing the best legal representation for his clients, John is poised to make a lasting difference at Meirowitz & Wasserberg, LLP.
