I’m Bonnie Steinwolf. I’ve been practicing law for more than 20 years. I manage the Melville Long Island office for Meirowitz & Wasserberg. I have predominantly represented victims of asbestos exposure for the majority of my career. Most of my clients suffer from mesothelioma and lung cancer, and I have been an important part of their family and their lives as they tackle a very difficult time. It has been the most rewarding to support these people and bring them to justice.

Most recently, I have been involved in Camp Lejeune and am representing Marines and their family members from all over the country with regard to a myriad of diseases that they suffer from, having been exposed to decontaminated water at Camp Lejeune.

Over the past two decades, NYC personal injury attorney, Bonnie Steinwolf, has developed a distinguished reputation as an experienced civil litigator who concentrates her practice on representing those who have been seriously injured. Nothing gives her greater satisfaction than righting a wrong, so fighting for justice on behalf of her clients is something she looks forward to doing each and every day.

Bonnie focuses in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, products liabilitypremises liability, and toxic torts. She has represented hundreds of people injured by another party’s negligence or wrongdoing. She has special expertise in representing victims of asbestos exposures, who, as a result of their exposure, suffer from lung cancer or mesothelioma.  She is well versed in the many different exposures one could sustain during their lifetime and as such, has had a full and varied roster of clients including insulators, steamfitters, carpenters, electricians, laborers, millwrights, boilermakers, flooring installers, home improvement enthusiasts, auto mechanics, hairdressers, teachers, artists, dentists, family members and more.   In addition, Bonnie has been instrumental in the successful resolution of cases against suppliers and manufacturers of asbestos-containing talc products, such as baby powders, fragrant powders, foot powders and make-up products, all of which have resulted in multimillion dollar settlements for the men and women who used these unsafe products.

Bonnie helped to secure a $32 million dollar verdict, in South Carolina, on behalf of the estate of a mesothelioma victim who sustained exposure to asbestos simply by laundering the contaminated clothing of her husband who worked as an insulator.  Bonnie also helped the firm to achieve a $28.5 million dollar verdict, here in New York City, for the case of a local 538 Steamfitter.

In addition to her work with victims of asbestos exposure, Bonnie takes great pride in representing hundreds of Marines and their family members who have been injured as a result of the toxic water at Camp Lejeune, as well as Firefighters who have been injured by their use of Aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF) during the course of performing their duties.  Representing the brave men and women, who are the backbone of our country, has been a highlight of her career.

Bonnie opened Meirowitz & Wasserberg’s Long Island office and has brought the experience and expertise of our firm to both Nassau and Suffolk counties. Bonnie recognized that our Long Island clients who were injured or sick needed the convenience of having a local attorney, so she now proudly serves our Long Island clientele right in their backyard. As a Long Island native herself and member of the Suffolk County Bar, Bonnie is thrilled to bring her work back home.

Bonnie’s knowledge and experience have proven to be invaluable to her clients. Not only does she bring expertise and skill to a case, but she also has genuine warmth and compassion for the people she represents.  During the process of handling a case, her clients become more than simply clients, they become family. Bonnie believes that the relationship they create is paramount to success.

Prior to joining Meirowitz & Wasserberg, Bonnie spent her career at two highly regarded Plaintiffs’ firms in New York City.

Bonnie received her Juris Doctor degree from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in 1998, where she was chosen to be an Associate Editor of the Hofstra Labor and Employment Law Journal. Prior to entering law school, Bonnie received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Albany, where she graduated summa cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.

Bonnie lives on Long Island with her husband, two children, and beloved dog.
