Helping Sexual Abuse Survivors Pursue Justice

Found On This Page:

At Meirowitz & Wasserberg, LLP, we are stalwart allies to those who have suffered injury and abuse. In the past, our advocacy was confined to limited timelines for both criminal and civil cases. Now, thanks to an advance in the law that brings the state of New York on par with much of the rest of the United States, more victims will be able to seek justice.

New Statutes Of Limitations

The recently passed New York Child Victims Act is a big step forward in making the statutes of limitations to report child sexual abuse more equitable. It allows survivors of child sexual abuse an extended time to seek prosecution of perpetrators. Now, a survivor can be up to 55 years of age to seek justice in a civil case. Previously, the age limit was 23 years of age.

Experienced Legal Action For Victims

Sam N’ Dan have over 30 years of experience serving clients in all five New York City Boroughs. If you seek compensation for another person’s wrongful actions against you, our legal representation can give you an edge in settling and litigating civil matters. We assist people who have been injured and abused by perpetrators in institutional cases: The Catholic Church and priests, Boy Scouts leaders, teachers, coaches, counselors and other perpetrators of these sex abuse crimes.
