Hector R. Barron is a passionate and dedicated attorney at Meirowitz & Wasserberg, where he advocates for individuals and families impacted by asbestos exposure. His practice focuses on plaintiff-side asbestos litigation, helping clients diagnosed with mesothelioma, lung cancer, and asbestosis seek justice and compensation for the harm they’ve endured.
He brings a client-centered approach to every case, treating each individual not as a file, but as a person deserving of dignity, compassion, and justice.
Before joining the firm, Hector gained valuable experience at several personal injury firms, working on a wide range of cases from Multi-District Litigation involving Navy veterans to representing injured workers in complex compensation claims. His commitment to advocacy is rooted in a deep respect for the everyday people he represents — from blue-collar workers to families navigating life after a serious injury.
Hector also served as a legal intern with the U.S. Department of Justice in the Northern District of Illinois, where he assisted in prosecuting human and gun trafficking crimes. He later worked as a 711-licensed prosecutor handling misdemeanor cases in Illinois and clerked for the Illinois Fourteenth Judicial Circuit Court.
Originally from Lima, Peru, Hector was raised in Reno, Nevada. He earned his B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Communications from the University of Nevada, where he was named to the Dean’s List. He went on to graduate cum laude from Northern Illinois University College of Law, where he served as an Associate Editor on the Law Review.
Hector is licensed to practice law in Illinois. Outside the courtroom, he is a devoted Catholic, a competitive bodybuilder, and an avid cyclist. His faith and family roots inspire his commitment to practicing law with integrity, humility, and a genuine desire to serve others.
