Robert Astrachan’s current practice focuses on personal injury matters. He has experience as a litigation attorney appearing before state and federal courts in various matters, including personal injury, medical malpractice, medical device, construction and product liability cases. He also has experience in commercial litigation, immigration and family law. Mr. Astrachan has been recognized in his field as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Fluent in Spanish and English, Robert is uniquely positioned to represent plaintiffs in personal injury matters.
Prior to joining Meirowitz & Wasserberg, LLP, Mr. Astrachan gained extensive experience working at a boutique plaintiff’s focused personal injury law firm where he obtained millions of dollars on behalf of clients in personal injury matters. Mr. Astrachan also briefly worked as an attorney representing defendant medical providers and a mass transit authority. These experiences have informed his approach to practice. When representing people who have suffered injuries, Robert believes he must be a fighter for his injured clients in the courtroom, but an honest and trustworthy adviser to his clients outside of the court room. Defendants and their insurers must be forced to care about an injured client’s case or it will not be taken seriously. A client’s case should be prepared for trial and aggressively pursued to put defendants and their insurers on notice that they either must settle the case or prepare for trial.
In law school, Mr. Astrachan, clerked for the Honorable Judge Jose A. Fuste at the Federal District Court of Puerto Rico. In addition, he gained extensive experience in immigration law during his tenure at Nationalities Service Center. He was a participant in Temple University Beasley School of Law’s Integrated Trial Advocacy Program.
